It is very easy to become a member of the library. All you need to do is show the library staff some form of ID which could be your driving or fishing licence. Vistors are most welcome to come in and borrow items on a short term loan. Some form of ID is all you need and a reference from one of the fishing families from the islands. Children under 18 will need their parent/guardian to sign their membership form.
There are a couple of different ways you can visit the library. You can fly direct from Geraldton to East Wallabi Island and then from there you will be met by a small tinnie or dinghy. If you are one of the lucky ones who has a pleasure boat or yacht and don't get seasick this would be a great adventure. The other alternative is knowing a fisherman who could give you a lift on their crayboat. Helicopter or a seaplane is another mode of transport that will get you to the library however they are far and few between.
